About the original work
This reproduction is based on the original painting by PEDRO PABLO Oliva entitled Girl with a Blue Bird on Her Head , created in 2004 using mixed media on cardboard (70 × 50 cm), currently in a private collection. Its image was used on the cover of the single Yolanda (2017) by Haydée Milanés and Omara Portuondo.
In this work, the female figure, often a protagonist in Oliva's work and frequently idealized by the artist, appears in a state of introspection, her hair arranged like a nest, and accompanied by a bird. The contrast of orange and violet tones adds a magical hue to the composition.
